Sage Pastel • Company Data Migration

Pastel Partner Company Data Migration (Version14 and Upwards)

Run the setup assistant to install Pastel.

 

If you want Pastel to migrate you data:

• Select the “Typical” option if you want to migrate your companies.

Click Next

• You will receive a message that Pastel will migrate your V12 data to V14 using the internet.

Click Next

• The Destination folder screen will appear

You should confirm that you want Pastel to install into the default folder. If not you can change this to your preferred folder.

Select the Share the Pastel folder option if you would like to give full access to all users on the network. If you are unsure about this option, please contact your network administrator.

 

If you do not want Pastel to migrate you data:

• Select the “Custom” option If you do not want to migrate the companies.
• Select the tick box “Install Sage Pastel Accounting Version 14 without migrating Version 12”

Click Next

• The Destination folder screen will appear

You should confirm that you want Pastel to install into the default folder. If not you can change this to your preferred folder.

Select the Share the Pastel folder option if you would like to give full access to all users on the network. If you are unsure about this option, please contact your network administrator.

 

For Pervasive Workgroups installations

If you have Pervasive Workgroup installed and the Registration Server is not the computer you are busy installing on,

Click on the Change

• Go to the Partner Version 14 Registration Folder option and browse to the Registration folder on the server (mapped drive required).
• The Change Registration Folder screen is displayed. Browse for the Version 14 Registration folder on an existing mapped drives or create a new map drive to the Version 14 share on the server.

Click on Next

 

For Pervasive Client installations

If you have Pervasive Client installed,

Select Change

• Go to the Partner Version 14 Registration Folder option and browse to the Registration folder on the server (mapped drive required).
• Confirm that the Partner Version 12 Mapped Drive letter is correct and click the Next button.

If the Partner Version 14 Registration Folder is invalid, you will get an error message.

Select Next

 

Proxy Server

If a proxy authentication is required to retrieve the registration information. Select the “Don’t register Sage Pastel Accounting Version 14 automatically”. Only migrate data option.

Pastel Version 14 will not be registered but all the companies (data) will still be migrated.

• Enter the proxy server name
• Enter the User Name
• Enter the User Password
• Click Next

 

If you do not have an internet connection

You will not be able to do the automatic registration of Version 14 onwards.

Only the companies will be migrated.

• Select the “Don’t register Sage Pastel Accounting Version 14 automatically”. Only migrate data option

Click Next

 

If you do have an internet connection

You will be able to do an automatic registration. If Pastel cannot locate the registration details, and error message will pop up.

• The Version 12 Base Serial Number used in the package is not found or does not match our records (incorrectly entered)
• The migration to Version 14 was done before and the Registration folder was removed. Restore the folder to its original location and run the install again.
• Version 12 does not qualify for the upgrade. If you do have a correct serial number, enter this, and click the validate button.Select “Don’t register Sage Pastel Accounting Version 14 automatically. Only migrate data”.

If you do have a correct serial number, enter this, and click the validate button.

Select “Don’t register Sage Pastel Accounting Version 14 automatically. Only migrate data”.

Pastel Version 14 will not be registered but all the companies (data) will still be migrated.

• Click Next

 

If the serial number you entered does not validate

You will need to call Pastel registrations directly.

 

If the serial number you entered does validate

Confirm that the information is correct on the Registration Information screen

• Select Next

A list of all current companies will be displayed. If there are multiple tabs, there are companies in other folders than the default company folder that can be migrated. You can deselect a company if you wish not to migrate the company to Sage Pastel Version 14. A tab will display for each Version 12 location.

Select the tab to view or change the location for all the companies. The Change button will change the location for all the companies to the New Location for the tab you are on. Once you have made your selections, click the Next button to continue with the installation and to migrate all your selected companies to Sage Pastel Accounting Version 14.
