Overview of Sales Analysis Codes
These are codes that you create based on particular sales criteria, to analyse sales performance.
As an example, you can allocate these codes to each sales person to see if they are meeting their sales targets. You can use sales analysis codes in the following two main areas:
· Analysing Sales Persons
Apart from allocating the sale to a sales person, Pastel can also determine their commission amounts as well. As you create each code, you can create a commission structure, that is, target amounts and percentage commissions. Commissions can be based on sales or gross profit amounts.
· Other Sales Criteria
You can allocate sales analysis codes to other sales criteria such as geographic areas, customer categorisation, market analysis, and so on.
Using Sales Analysis Codes
You create, edit, and delete sales analysis codes in the Edit…Customers…Sales Analysis Codes menu option.
For each customer and delivery address, you can assign a default sales code. When you process an individual invoice, Pastel defaults the sales code to the one in the customer file. However, you can change the code at time of invoice.
Analysis by Sales Analysis Codes
Pastel offers you several reports that you can generate via the View…Customers…Sales Analysis Codes menu option, to analyse your sales. You can see commissions for each sales person, periodic sales totals, all invoices for each analysis code and more.
Note also that in the Edit…Customers…Sales Analysis Codes menu option, Xpress displays the current year and last year’s period sales, gross profit and commission for each sales person or sales function. In the same menu option, you can attach notes to each sales analysis code as well as the sales person’s picture.
