Pastel Abbreviations for Journal and Cash Book Descriptions

If, when you process journal and cash book transactions, you find that you often enter the same descriptions, you can create abbreviations for these to speed up your data entry.

To do this, proceed as follows:

When you are in the description field, the Zoom icon appears. Zoom and a screen appear, in which you can create your abbreviations, Pastel allows you to enter up to 200 abbreviations:

Once your abbreviations are created, you can access them in two ways:

 

Simply type in the abbreviation in the description field, and Pastel replaces the abbreviation with its description

 

  • Zoom to the abbreviations screen and select an existing abbreviation.
  • Pastel provides two similar facilities in the customer and supplier invoice document processing screens.
  • You can create abbreviations for inventory item codes.
  • You can create abbreviations for invoice line descriptions. These can contain multiple description lines in one abbreviation.
